The Dallas Pacers Youth Organization, Inc. non-profit 501c3 was founded in 2002 with our goal being to focus on the whole child by inspiring the youth without regard to race, color, creed or national origin; to practice the principles of health, education, citizenship and Godly character; and to institute within the game, the elements of safety and sanity while emphasizing teamwork for all participants.

Since 2002, we have been playing an important role in the development of the youth in the community. The skills our youth learn while involved with the Dallas Pacers, Inc. are not only competitive basketball they are also educated on skills to enhance their venture into the wider world. They are taught self-confidence, self respect, spiritual guidance, team work, coordination, social skills, educational increase, proper etiquette, and professionalism; as well as how to cope with the successes and failures of life.

Our objectives are:

To develop outstanding physical abilities for young people, while also shaping character, influential attitudes, educational increase and positive behavior.

To provide a unique sporting event that brings together the people of God, uniting the community as a whole, collaborating with other groups, clubs, teams, etc.

To provide an opportunity for interaction and socialization of participants, visitors and other communities.

Accomplishments

Our youth participate in many community service activities and we’ve been involved with the Rebuilding Together project in South Dallas, where our youth  assist the elderly with home improvements, etc. We also partner with Heart Changers Intl. Ministries and Unity Baptist Church in which we build on spiritual growth for our youth. We’ve intervened with many obstacles faced to include, teen pregnancy, teen drop out and other intervention efforts. Our youth participate in numerous high profile college sanctioned and AAU tournaments each season and have won several championships. We’ve enhanced our mentoring workshops to include TAKS preparation, SAT/ACT preparation, college admissions assistance (enrollment, financial aid and housing). Also, by God's amazing grace, we’ve grown from 15 youth to approximately 80 youth and growing! Several of our youth have received four-year scholarships to the following universities: SMU, University of New Mexico, UTEP, Mountain View and Kansas State.

We sincerely thank our sponsors, parents, volunteers and the community for your continued support!
